This is a T5C MOP-UP HIV Initiative
Projected Start: Q1 2027
Projected Duration: 6 months
Goal: Maximize Outcomes through Prevention, Uptake and Patient-Centered Care in People Living with HIV
Target Population: People Living with HIV (PLHIV) requiring timely access to allied priority diagnostic services.
Unmet Need: As PLHIV live longer, they face an increasing burden of non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory conditions, and cervical cancer. Delays in accessing essential diagnostic services contribute to missed diagnoses, poorer health outcomes, increased healthcare costs and reduced quality of life.
Implementation: a targeted diagnostic acceleration program to rapidly reduce backlogs for high-priority services.
Impact: Reduced waiting times for priority diagnostic services. Earlier detection and management of HIV-associated comorbidities. Evidence generation to support sustainable integration of HIV and NCD services; reduced healthcare costs associated with delayed diagnosis and advanced disease complications.
